    Foundation of SAMU by Dr. Carlos Álvarez Leiva. The first MICU to operate emergency medical services in Spain.

  • 1990

    First edition of the Master’s Degree in Emergency Medicine.


  • 1994

    First edition of the company’s Own Master’s Degree in Pre-hospital Medicine, Disasters and Humanitarian Action at the University of Seville.

  • 1999

    Inauguration of the Emergency Medical Service in Málaga.


  • 2005

    Inauguration of the first Nursing Home for the Elderly in Seville.

  • 2006

    SAMU opens its first laundry (Seville).


  • 2007

    Opening of two emergency centres for unaccompanied migrant children in Cádiz.

  • 2008

    Opening of a Day Care Centre for persons with intellectual disability, behavioural disorders and acquired brain damage.

    Opening of a Nursing Home for persons with acquired brain damage in Seville.


  • 2010

    Management by SAMU of a rescue operation following the disaster caused by the earthquake in Port-au-Prince.

    Opening of a Nursing Home for persons with intellectual disability and behavioural disorders.

    Inauguration of a Temporary Emergency Centre for unaccompanied migrant children in Motril.

    Activation of the first Emergency Medical Service in Huelva.

    Inauguration of SAMU’s School of Emergency Medicine and Professional Training in Health Sciences in Gelves (Seville).

    Opening of Emergency Reception Centres in Cádiz, Almería, Granada, Córdoba and Seville.

    Opening of the first Samu Foundation Office in Washington D.C., USA.

    Opening of a new care centre for unaccompanied migrant children in Ceuta, Zaragoza and Madrid.

    SAMU Vocational training School. Agreement with the Andalusian Youth Institute (IAJ).

    Solidarity Learning Caravans in Northern Morocco, contributing school materials and warm clothing for more than one thousand children at risk of social exclusion.
